We are preparing for the upcoming Income Tax returns due in June. To ensure proper planning, it is vital to distinguish between the new measures already applicable to the 2024 tax year and those coming into force in 2025.
In force since the 2024 tax year
- Reform of the Patronage Law (Donations):
- 80% deduction for the first €250 donated (up from €150).
- 40% deduction for any amount exceeding that threshold (up from 35%).
- Housing Rental (New Contracts):
- The general reduction drops from 60% to 50%.
- 90% Bonus: If you lower the rent by 5% in "stressed market areas" (such as Catalonia).
- 70% Reduction: If you rent to young people (18-35 years old) in stressed areas for the first time.
Self-Employed (Autónomos): Mandatory filing for all, regardless
